Description
Soft, fluffy apple cinnamon rolls filled with spiced apple chunks and drizzled with a creamy vanilla glaze. A cozy homemade treat perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
1 cup warm milk
2¼ tsp active dry yeast
2 large eggs
6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
4 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
½ cup brown sugar
1½ tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter for filling
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2–3 tbsp milk (for glaze)
½ tsp vanilla (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Warm milk to about 110°F. Add yeast and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Whisk in eggs and melted butter. Add flour and salt. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
3. Let dough rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours until doubled.
4. In a pan, cook apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla for 5–7 minutes.
5. Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread apple mixture evenly.
6. Roll up tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
7. Place in greased baking pan. Cover and rise again for 45–60 minutes.
8. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
9. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
10. Serve immediately or store for later.
Notes
Best served warm. Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking. Rolls can be frozen after baking.
