Description

These baked apple fritters are soft, spiced, and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. They’re easier, lighter, and safer than fried fritters—perfect for cozy fall mornings or quick family treats.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1/3 cup milk

2 tbsp melted butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup diced apples (Gala, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith)

Glaze:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

12 tbsp milk

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.

3. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.

4. Pour wet into dry and stir until just combined. Fold in diced apples.

5. Scoop batter onto baking sheet and bake 12–14 minutes or until golden.

6. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm fritters.

Notes

Use firm apples to prevent soggy batter.

Glaze fritters while warm for best absorption.

Store unglazed fritters in freezer up to 2 months.
