Description

Delicious homemade chocolate croissants featuring flaky pastry and rich melted chocolate, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1/2 cup milk (warm)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Cut cold butter into the flour mixture to create a crumbly texture.
  3. Gradually add warm milk and mix to form a dough.
  4. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle and fold it to create layers.
  6. Cut into triangles and roll up to form croissants.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and let rise for 1 hour.
  8. Brush with egg wash and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  9. Melt dark chocolate and serve with croissants for dipping.

Notes

Make sure the butter is very cold for the best flaky texture. Experiment with different chocolate types for variety.
