- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (cold)
- 1/2 cup milk (warm)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 cup dark chocolate (for dipping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Cut cold butter into the flour mixture to create a crumbly texture.
- Gradually add warm milk and mix to form a dough.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle and fold it to create layers.
- Cut into triangles and roll up to form croissants.
- Place on a baking sheet and let rise for 1 hour.
- Brush with egg wash and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Melt dark chocolate and serve with croissants for dipping.
Notes
Make sure the butter is very cold for the best flaky texture. Experiment with different chocolate types for variety.
