Description

Deliciously crispy and cheesy breadsticks made from sourdough discard, perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (optional, like rosemary or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough discard, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until combined.
  3. Add in the shredded cheese and olive oil, and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut into desired shapes (sticks or squares) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs on top.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or any favorite dip. Can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days or frozen for longer storage.
