Delicious homemade Twinkies that bring back childhood memories with a customizable twist.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the filling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Twinkie pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared Twinkie pan, filling each mold about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before removing from pan.
- For the filling, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Once the cakes are cool, fill with whipped cream using a piping bag.
