Description

A moist, spiced pear bread recipe that’s perfect for fall mornings or cozy family gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

2 eggs

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup oil

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups grated pears

1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.

2. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

3. Beat eggs with sugar, oil, and vanilla.

4. Fold in grated pears.

5. Add dry ingredients to wet.

6. Stir in nuts if using.

7. Pour into pan and bake 55–60 minutes.

8. Cool before slicing.

Notes

Substitute pears with apples for variation.

Add ginger or cloves for spiced pear bread.

Freezes well for up to 3 months.
