Description

A comforting casserole combining tender pork chops with tangy sauerkraut, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 1 can of sauerkraut (drained)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Season pork chops with salt and pepper, then brown them in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. In a baking dish, layer the drained sauerkraut, sliced onion, and minced garlic.
  5. Sprinkle caraway seeds on top.
  6. Place browned pork chops on top of the sauerkraut layer.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 30-35 minutes, until the pork is cooked through.
  8. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the pork chops in apple cider vinegar or Dijon mustard before browning. Add brown sugar for a sweeter sauerkraut.
