Description

Delicious pork chops smothered in a rich, creamy gravy with caramelized onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for searing

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the chops and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter and sliced onions. Cook until the onions are caramelized.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the onions and cook for another minute.
  5. Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  6. Add the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Return the pork chops to the skillet, cover, and cook for an additional 10 minutes, until the pork is cooked through and the gravy has thickened.
  8. Serve the pork chops with the creamy gravy on top.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute chicken breasts and use low-fat cream or coconut milk.
