A delicious way to use leftover sourdough discard, these biscuits are quick to prepare and deliver a cheesy flavor with a hint of spice.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, cheddar cheese, and sourdough discard to the dry ingredients. Mix until a large dough ball forms.
- Divide the dough into 9 equal portions and drop them onto the baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are firm and slightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and cool for 3-5 minutes on the pan, then transfer to a cooling rack.
Notes
Best served warm. Can be paired with soups, salads, or enjoyed with butter or jam.
