Description

This Udon Noodle Sauce recipe is quick, savory, slightly sweet, and perfect for tossing with chewy udon noodles for a comforting Japanese-inspired meal.


Ingredients

Soy sauce – umami base Mirin – adds sweetness (or honey/sugar) Sesame oil – nutty depth Garlic – fresh or powdered Ginger – grated fresh Rice vinegar – tangy balance Brown sugar – optional Cornstarch – optional thickener


Instructions

1. Whisk soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. 2. Stir in garlic and ginger. 3. Add brown sugar if desired. 4. Simmer with cornstarch slurry to thicken (optional). 5. Toss with cooked udon noodles and serve.

Notes

Store sauce in fridge up to 5 days. Freeze in small portions for up to 2 months. Add chili oil for spice or miso for depth.
