Description

Fun and tasty cookies resembling basketballs, perfect for sports fans and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Orange and black icing (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with your hand.
  8. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, decorate the cookies with orange icing for the basketball surface and black icing for the lines.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier mixing. Don’t overbake the cookies; they should be light golden. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating to prevent the icing from melting.
